Simplex Fittings

If there is a requirement to clean the external face of the glazing / window from within a building, the cords and weights version of our Sash & Case windows can have our optional factory fitted simplex fittings to assist. These allow the lower sash to hinge (side hung) inwards, and give better access to clean the outside of the upper sash. The upper sash cannot be hinged inwards. Simplex fittings are not possible for spiral balance Sash & Case windows. Simplex fittings comprise a kit of slotted hinges, sash screws, cord clutch (cleat), removable baton rod gate, and baton rod thumb turn(s).
